Cheese Dobra misel
The Journal Finance has been running this competition for several years. In the Agrobiznis 2018 competition, 24 candidates were selected to win three categories. The expert commission chose the best entrepreneur in agriculture and the most innovative food, while Internet voters of Finance and Agrobiznis selected the best domestic product. They also awarded special recognition for the development of new technologies and methods of production.
Mlekarna Planika received the highest number of votes for the Dobra misel cheese, through online voting in the category of voting for the best domestic product.
At the award ceremony, they wrote: “With the cheese Dobra misel, Mlekarna Planika continues the story of genuine dairy products from the Soča valley, from where all the ingredients originate. The basis for this is Cheese Kober, which is made of milk from mountain farms in the Upper Soča region. It is strongly sweet, but wild oregano gives it a pleasant aroma. Wild oregano is called dobra misel (kind thought) in Slovenia and this is where the name of this cheese originates from. Wild oregano in the mountains of the Soča region is collected by a local herbalist, and the dairy Mlekarna Kobarid buys it from her.
