Mountain cheese or cheese Gregorčič got its name after the poet Simon Gregorčič, who was born in Vrsno pri Kobaridu. Cheese Gregorčič is a hard, semi-hard, full- fat cheese made of pasteurized, non-homogenized milk. It has a natural light yellow crust and a pleasant sweet taste. It ripens on wooden shelves in a traditional way, where it is daily manually rotated. During this time, it develops an intense taste, which becomes more spicy, and the smell is more pronounced.
As one of the few cheeses, cheese Gregorčič with hard crust is sold without protective film and with no coating.
A wheel of cheese weighs about 3 kg. It is also vacuum packed in pieces.
